MONTREAL -- The NHL-leading Montreal Canadiens are once again streaking. Only this time, its in the opposite direction. After matching or setting franchise -- and league -- records en route to a 13-1-1 start, the Canadiens are now 0-2-1 in their past three games after falling to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night in Raleigh. Now theyll head home to face a Toronto Maple Leafs squad on a roll, rested and waiting in Montreal. Its the second meeting in three weeks for the historic rivals, and the final on at the Bell Centre. The teams last squared off on Oct. 29 in Montreal, with the Canadiens skating away with a 2-1 victory. The Canadiens gave up three goals in six minutes in the third period against Carolina to see a 1-0 lead become a 3-1 deficit. It marked the third straight game of at least three goals allowed for Montreal and while they connected three times of their own in Tuesdays overtime loss to Florida, theyve only scored three goals total in their two other losses.I think the effort was there, Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said after the loss to the Hurricanes. You need puck luck and we dont have the puck luck lately. If theres been one bright spot during Montreals recent slide, its the play of defenseman Andrei Markov. The 16-year NHL veteran picked up a pair of assists against the Hurricanes to extend his point streak to seven games and moving him into a tie with Yvan Cournoyer for seventh place on the Canadiens all-time assists list.Carey Price, who made 37 saves in their last meeting with Toronto, will get the start in goal on Saturday but Therrien didnt confirm any other potential line-up changes. Rookie Charles Hudon, called up from the AHL on Thursday, replaced Sven Andrighetto. He could earn another go after picking up an assist and leaving an impression on his coach.Well see, but he played really well, Therrien said. He played well for a first game, I thought he created offensively, really responsible on the ice. I thought the kid competed really well. Im pleased with his effort. For the Maple Leafs, November has been much kinder than October was. After posting a 2-4-3 record in the opening month of the season, Toronto has won six of its eight games so far this month. And not only has Mike Babcocks group been winning, its been doing so with plenty of offense of late; Toronto has scored at least six goals in each of their most recent four wins. The young Leafs have made headlines for their offensive efforts and while the likes of Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews and William Nylander have generated most of the buzz, rookie Connor Brown added his name to the conversation on Thursday night. Brown became the fifth Maple Leafs player to record a four-point night with two goals and a pair of assists in a 6-1 win over the Panthers.Im slowly getting more comfortable with the puck and more comfortable making plays, Brown told TSN after the game. Offensively it was a bit of a slow start but I feel good defensively and I feel like Im in the right spots. While the offense has been rolling, its been doing so without much help from the power play. Toronto has scored just three times on 19 opportunities with the man advantage and has been held off the scoresheet in four of the past five games.Opponents arent scoring much on power plays either against the Leafs, who have allowed just three goals on the penalty kill and have denied the opposition of any power play tallies in six of eight games this month. Gonzalez has a six-week window before position players have their first workout at spring training in Arizona. Vapormax Flyknit 3 Femme . Now, correct me if Im wrong but I saw one official distinctly pointing at the net indicating a good goal but after an inconclusive review they overturned the goal. Shouldnt the ruling on the ice (good goal) stand after an inconclusive review? Why was this overturned? James Veaudry Pembroke, ON -- Hey Kerry, Youll get a lot of these, but why was the Montreal goal against Nashville Saturday night overturned? Eller puts the puck on net and the on ice ruling from the ref behind the net is a Montreal goal. http://www.vapormaxpaschersoldes.fr/vente-air-vapormax-2019/vapormax-2019-blanche.html . The 27-year-old Scrivens will be joining his third NHL club since signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs as a free agent in 2010. Datsyuk will miss Tuesdays game against New Jersey and could be sidelined longer, while Cleary will likely miss at least the next three games. Its been an injury-plagued season for Datsyuk, who has suited up for just 39 games. GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Dre Massey is Floridas most versatile player, capable of lining up at receiver, running back, quarterback, returner and punter. Yes, punter. The 25th-ranked Gators probably wont ask Massey to kick, but they do expect the junior college transfer to be a huge help on offense this season.Hes one of those guys that you can use in a lot of different situations, coach Jim McElwain said.Massey did it all at Holmes (Mississippi) Community College last year. He caught 21 passes for 548 yards and six touchdowns, and carried 59 times for 452 yards and three scores. He also punted three times (averaged 22.3 yards) and threw three passes (all incomplete).Florida isnt trying to pass Massey off as a modern-day Paul Hornung, but considering the Gators lack of offensive playmakers since Percy Harvin left school in 2009, its easy to understand their excitement. At the very least, Massey should give the Gators another viable receiving option alongside Antonio Callaway, Brandon Powell and C.J. Worton. But Massey also could end up in the starting lineup because Callaway hasnt been cleared to play following a university-imposed suspension and Worton is dealing with a high-ankle sprain. And if Masseys performance matches his confidence, hell be tough to take off the field. It will give (defenses) a headache trying to figure out what they can do to stop me, Massey said. Then well switch it up and do something different. Its what we do.Florida has been searching for more offense for years, ever since quarterback Tim Tebows tenure ended after the 2009 season with two national championships and about 20 school records. The Gators ranked 100th in the nation in scoring in 2015, averaging 23.dddddddddddd.2 points a game, and were 112th in total offense. They managed to win the Southeastern Conferences watered-down Eastern Division thanks mostly to a dynamic defense.McElwain vowed the offense will be dramatically better this year. His scheme is predicated on shifts and movements that are designed to create mismatches. Massey seems to be a perfect fit. The Greenville, South Carolina, native -- former Gamecocks coach and current Florida ambassador Steve Spurrier recruited him out of high school -- plays mostly in the slot, but can slide outside or line up in the backfield. And if the Gators want to get trickier, Massey can take snaps.McElwain even guaranteed that Massey would throw at least one pass this season.Theres the art of deception in having those guys being able to do so many different things, McElwain said. I think anytime you can do that, it really helps.McElwain wanted to use Powell in a similar role last season, but he was slowed by a foot injury. With Powell healthy and Massey in the mix, the Gators are planning to play them side by side.Thats some crazy matchup problems, Massey said. Theres really nothing you can do.The Gators hope thats the case. If so, there would be even less need for Massey to punt.Ive been pretty much versatile everywhere Ive played, said Massey, who once accounted for 11 touchdowns in a high school game. Ive always been able to do more than one thing and play more than one position. I take pride in that.---AP college football website: www.collegefootball.ap.org ' ' '
