Umpire Paul Reiffel has dismissed the idea of wearing a helmet while officiating in Test matches, despite suffering a concussion after being hit by a fielders throw on the first day of the fourth Test of the ongoing India-England series. Reiffel is currently home in Melbourne, after the ICC deemed him unfit to take the field in the final Test in Chennai.Speaking to Fairfax Media, the former Australia fast bowler said wearing a helmet would complicate the umpiring process for him. It would be too heavy and too hot, five days with a helmet on, it just would be impossible, he said. Its hard to hear [with the helmet on]. Ive put one on and thought could I umpire in this?, and I thought Id really struggle.Reiffel, who was standing at square leg when he was hit by a throw from Indias Bhuvneshwar Kumar, said the accident occurred because he took his eyes off the ball thinking it was dead. Always keep your eye on the ball, he said. I just didnt do it. I feel a bit silly not doing that. Its like playing; if you watch the ball you should come out all right. It was just an accident. Id back myself to get out of the way if I see it coming. The batsmen had stopped running, the fieldsmen were taking their time. I must have relaxed and expected him to throw it to the keeper over my head and he decided to throw it halfway to the fieldsman. He got it wrong and hit me on the back of my head. It got me behind the ear and hit me flush, thats whats done the damage. He said he could remember little of what happened thereafter, and, in hindsight, was glad the ICC took the decision to make him stand down for the rest of the Test. Apart from that, I dont really remember a lot about it. I suppose it did hurt. Ive watched the replay and I went down pretty quick. I was rolling around a bit. It certainly shook me up.The next day you feel as though you should be out there. The England cricket team doctor put me through a few tests and I didnt pass them that well, so they decided it was best not to do the Test and have a bit of a rest and come back later. The ICC decided it was for the best I had the rest. Im glad about that because I needed it. I was pretty sick for a few days there.Reiffel is expected to return for the New Zealand-Bangladesh ODI series, which begins on Boxing Day.Adidas Continental 80 Heren . Did they get an A or an F, or somewhere in between? Read on to see how each top-flight side has been ranked... Weekend results Premier League FA Cup Norwich 0-0 Man City Reading 1-2 C Palace B’mouth 3-2 Swansea Everton 2-0 Chelsea Stoke 1-2 So’ton Arsenal 1-2 Watford Aston Villa 0-2 Spurs Man Utd 1-1 West Ham Premier LeagueBournemouth - AIts three wins in a row now for the Cherries, so wonderful stuff from them. Manager Eddie Howe and his players are on 38 points now so theyre all-but safe. For a newly-promoted team to do what theyve done is great for the league.Southampton - ASouthampton were worthy winners against a Stoke side that have had a good season and are full of entertaining players. Saints should have had a penalty when Jack Butland brought down Dusan Tadic and they were unlucky to have Sadio Mane sent off. Graziano Pelle will have welcomed his goals and Shane Long looked good getting in behind the Stoke defence. Sadio Manes red card at the Britannia was harsh, according to Smith Tottenham - AExcellent. They had to absorb some pressure in the second half against Aston Villa at Villa Park, but the way Mauricio Pochettino approached the game was great. They bounced back from disappointing results against Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund in style. They were so quick and theyve clearly got the bit firmly between their teeth.Norwich - B+This was a good point for Norwich against a very good team, even though Manchester City arent firing on all cylinders. The clean sheet would have encouraged Canaries boss Alex Neil.Aston Villa - C+ Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur shoots past Alan Hutton of Aston Villa I dont want to kick a team while theyre down. It was men against boys in the first half and when Harry Kane scored Spurs could have had plenty more. Villa couldnt cope with Spurs pace and intensity but, to their credit, they kept going and should have found the net through Rudy Gestede and Joleon Lescott. Villa are virtually relegated so its not easy for them, so at least they didnt give up and showed a bit of heart.Swansea - C+Swansea pegged Bournemouth back twice at the Vitality and for that reason they deserve a C+. They didnt give up which is good for a side who arent completely out of the relegation mix - although I think theyll be fine. The managers health problems havent helped, and theyll be hoping for a couple of wins as soon as possible to take the doubt away.Stoke - C Graziano Pelle celebrates after opening the scoring You would have expected more from Stoke, particularly because they were playing at home.dddddddddddd Pelle struck twice in succession and, despite Marko Arnautovic pulling one back, Southampton were the better team. It wasnt Stokes day.Man City - DManchester City are lucky to get a D. For a team that still has an outside chance of winning the title there was no intensity, belief or urgency. It was almost as if theyd already given up on the title. They didnt cause many problems to Norwichs goal. Poor. City were poor at Carrow Road as their title charge faltered FA CupWatford - A+Watford have struggled to score recently but Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney were back to their best at the Emirates. They were brilliant and the result was a reflection of the fantastic season theyre having. Adlene Guediouras goal was wonderful and capped off a great day for the club.Everton - A Romelu Lukaku scored against his former Chelsea for the first time It was a very tight game at Goodison Park but they hung on and were better defensively where they havent been in recent games. Romelu Lukaku was on the scoresheet with a pair of stunning goals and, by all accounts, the ground was rocking. It was a fantastic win.West Ham - B+West Ham will be gutted they allowed Manchester United back into the game but theyll be confident in progressing at Upton Park. Dimitri Payets free-kick was nothing short of incredible, another stunning effort from a player vying for the Player of the Season award.Crystal Palace - B Yohan Cabayes late penalty sent Palace on their way to Wembley Palace will hope their FA Cup run can aid their Premier League form, as theyve been struggling of late. Theyre in the semi-finals and that will bring back memories for Alan Pardews playing days, thats for sure! Frazier Campbell scoring was a bonus too!Manchester United - BThis certainly wasnt Uniteds worst performance, they did quite well to come back from a goal behind. Theyve relied on Anthony Martial a lot this season and once again he delivered.Reading - B-Playing against Premier League opposition is not easy for Reading. They frustrated Crystal Palace for most of the match and couldnt quite hold out. The late red card was telling.Arsenal - C Holders Arsenal were dumped out of the FA Cup at home to Watford Arsenal werent a threat, they were flat and they conceded too many chances and openings to a Watford team that struggled to score in the build-up to the game. That was down to Arsenals shape. Theyve won the cup for the last two seasons so the fact theyre out of it isnt the big problem, it was the manner of the defeat.Chelsea - CThis was a big game for Chelsea. Diego Costas ugly side reared itself once again - the theatrics didnt help as they failed to score and he was sent off. Its turned out to be a crippling week for them following their Champions League exit and its going to be hard for Guus Hiddink to lift them for the rest of the season.Watch Sky Sports Now weekdays from 10am to 12pm, Sky Sports News HQ.Also See:La Liga v Premier LeagueTransfer Centre LIVE!The relegation run-inLive on Sky ' ' '
