Williams is set to name its 2016 car the FW40 to mark 40 years of racing in Formula One.The anniversary means Williams will effectively skip one name in its lineage, with the 2016 car named the FW38. Sir Frank Williams first entered a car at the 1977 Spanish Grand Prix and the team has been a feature of the F1 grid ever since. In those four decades of racing Williams has won nine constructors and seven drivers titles, 114 wins and 128 pole positions. It last won a race at the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix through Pastor Maldonado.Deputy team principal Claire Williams said: 40 years ago Frank and Patrick [Head] created what would become one of the most iconic teams in the history of Formula One -- Williams. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved during our long and illustrious history. We have experienced the most euphoric highs - reaching the pinnacle of the sport nine times as a Constructor and created seven Champion drivers; Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. We have also experienced the lows; the heartache that the sport can cause and victories that have agonisingly slipped away.So much has changed in Formula One in the last 40 years but one thing remains the same, our passion for motorsport. We want to celebrate our passion, our achievements and our heritage with everyone who has made this journey possible -- our fans, partners, media colleagues and the many friends we have made over the last four decades. Racing, its in our blood, its our DNA and has been since 1977. We are proud of that and that will never change. The gesture is the first in a series of events Williams has planned to mark the anniversary.? The stars of county cricket - and a bevy of quality overseas names - will light up Friday nights over the next few months, with Sky Sports first live game the clash between Essex Eagles and Surrey at Chelmsford. But before then, check out some of the best moments from our coverage in 2015, including a thrilling battle between Yorkshire and Lancashire; Andrew Flintoff bowling to A League of their Own pal Jamie Redknapp; and Alex Hales whacking six sixes in succession! Rip-roaring Roses clash Jos Buttler of Lancashire smashes the ball away to the fence against Yorkshire This Roses clash had it all. Not that the local derby at a sell-out Headingley wasn’t enough, but it was further aided by a reverse-sweep six of the first ball by Glenn Maxwell, and fine performances from some of the England stars - Gary Ballance, Joe Root and Jos Buttler - who were made available for the clash.Ballance smashed 31 from 18 with three sixes, Root hit a half-century, and had some fun with the Sky Sports commentary team. But the standout was Buttler, who showed just how devastating he can be in the shortest format with a blistering 71 from 35 balls with five fours and sixes (two fours and one six of which came in the final over) as Lancashire chased down 186 to win - Maxwell missing a run-out chance from the final ball! T20 Blast: North Group Rob Key makes his predictions Redknapp faces Freddie Jamie Redknapp cant bear to look as he dons a Surrey kit with his name on to face Freddie It wasn’t the only entertainment provided at the Roses match that night. Redknapp faced the fearsome bowling of Freddie Flintoff, and the slightly less intimidating – but ex-England international all the same – Matthew Hoggard at Headingley, too. Filmed for A League of their Own, it is fair to say Redknapp’s results were mixed, but at least the former Liverpool midfielder made it through the ordeal in one piece. T20 Blast: South Group Nasser Hussain backs Essex to shine this summer Cobbs crazy catch Josh Cobb plucks a stunning catch out of the sky in front of the boundary They say catches win matches. And although this might not exactly be true of this T20 Blast quarter-final between Northamptonshire and Sussex, as a certain knock from David Willey will later prove, this stunning effort from Josh Cobb certainly played its part in the Steelbacks succcess.ddddddddddddSussex were coasting along on a belter of a pitch at Hove, with Mahela Jayawardene hitting fifty off 30 balls and the Sharks 87-1 after nine overs. But then Cobbs stunning, sliding catch in the deep to dismiss the Sri Lankan star turned the game in their favour. Sussex managed only 65 runs from their final 10 overs and Willey did the rest… but more on that in a bit.Hales’ six succesive sixes Alex Hales sends another ball over the boundary in Nottinghamshires win over Birmingham This blistering knock from Hales set the tone and got the party started on the opening night of the 2015 T20 Blast, as he smashed six successive sixes against then holders, Birmingham Bears. His explosive exploits came in the 11th and 12th overs - with Boyd Rankin and Ateeq Javid the unfortunate bowlers. Hales struck 86 from 43 balls with five fours and eight sixes as the Nottinghamshire Outlaws made light of their 142-run target, winning with 33 balls to spare.Willey wows with hundred David Willey celebrates his century for Northamptonshire in their quarter-final win over Sussex Willey scored a sensational hundred from 40 balls in Northamptonshires quarter-final win over Sussex, with seven fours and a staggering 10 sixes. Chasing 166 to win and nicely placed at 78-1 after eight overs, it was Willeys aerial assault on Michael Yardy in the next over that all-but booked a Finals Day spot with the six balls in the scorecard reading 6-4-6-6-6-6.
