Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Michael Youngs grounder in the bottom of the ninth inning was bobbled by Hanley Ramirez, allowing the winning run to score and giving Ryne Sandberg his first win as the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, a 3-2 victory over Los Angeles that snapped the Dodgers 10-game win streak. With one out in the ninth and Brandon League (6-4) on the mound for Los Angeles, Casper Wells hit a grounder to short that saw Ramirez throw the ball short for an error. Carlos Ruiz then had his fourth hit in his fourth at-bat as his single put runners at the corners. Jimmy Rollins was then intentionally walked and Young hit a grounder to short that appeared to have the potential for an inning-ending double play. Ramirez, though, bobbled the ball and Wells scored for the win. It was the first win of the managerial career of Sandberg, who took over for the fired Charlie Manuel on Friday. The Phillies had been shut out in the first two games of this series to begin Sandbergs tenure as manager. While the loss snapped their winning streak, the Dodgers are still a red-hot team, sporting a 42-9 record since June 22 and the run has given them a comfortable lead in the NL West. Darin Ruf hit a solo home run while Cody Asche also drove in a run for the Phillies, who came into the game having lost seven of eight. Cole Hamels pitched seven strong innings in the start, giving up two runs on seven hits without walking a batter and striking out eight. Jonathan Papelbon (3-1) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win. Andre Ethier hit a solo home run and scored twice with Jerry Hairston providing the other RBI for the Dodgers, who saw starter Ricky Nolasco give up two runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in six innings. The Dodgers took the lead in the second inning as Ethier led off the frame with his ninth homer of the year, a shot over the wall in right center. It was 2-0 in the fourth after Ethier hit a one-out single, moved to second on a wild pitch, and crossed the plate on a Hairston single to left. The Phillies broke their 21-inning scoreless spell in the fourth when Ruf clubbed a 2-2 pitch into the left field seats for his eighth home run of the season to make it a 2-1 game. Philly tied the game in the sixth as the team loaded the bases with one out and Asches fielders choice grounder plated Chase Utley to make it a 2-2 game. Wells grounded out to end the frame.
